Today’s select is in honor of the birth of my daughter, Onjali Marie!
Welcoming her into the world is Isao Tomita‘s synthtastic version of the timeless,”Claire De Lune”. French for “moonlight”, Claire De Lune is the title of the third movement of Claude Debussy‘s piano suite, Suite bergamasque and a depiction of the poem by Paul Verlaine.
First issued as a promo only 7″(the year of my birth), it’s also included on Tomita’s first album, “Dancing With Snowflakes” and widely available on various comps and soundtracks. ->BUY (7″)

Thanks for this, at the risk of making you sound old, my dad first played me this, I have to try a lift it next time I see him. Quality.

This music was used for a documentary back in the seventies about Belfast and the “Troubles” I think it was called “To be eight in Belfast” I remember the show and the music because I was “eight” in Belfast when I saw the show. It left an impression.
