
To me, it makes perfect sense to follow a Depeche Mode post with a Cure one. Back in the day, if you liked one of them, you were most likely into the other. I was a huge fan of both bands up until the 90s (DM’s “Violater” and The Cure’s “Disintegration”). I haven’t seen the Cure live in well over a decade, so I couldn’t tell you what they are like now, but from my past experiences, they were one of those bands that were even better live.
Today’s select is from thier first album, “Three Imaginary Boys” (aka Boys Don’t Cry). The first album is a bit different from the rest, as the Cure did not have complete creative control over it and thus contains songs that they would’ve rather not included on the album. “Object” is one of them, a catchy tune that manages to retain a bit of it’s punk edge. ->BUY (og press)

I heard the Ten Inches of Fear mix with punk songs and there was one that reminded me of that. still sounds different but as catchy. Husker Du – Don’t Want to Know if you are lonely … could have been a Foo Fighter song too
