A special shout! out goes to Actual Jakshun (M_NUS) for introducing this fine Depeche Mode track at a basement mix session back in the day. “Shout” is the B-side song to the “New Life” 12″ released in 1981 on Mute and would have been their oddest and best track from the “Speak & Spell” period. Similar to “Just Can’t Get Enough”, it still has a bouncy feel but uses huge, abstract reverberated sounds combined with subtle vocals until it concludes with a light hearted samba bass line. I must admit that part has grown on me a lot since then. ->BUY
