Portland’s newest independent electronic music label announces the release of its first compilation, NPM10001 – Nude Photography 2010, featuring tracks from dance music veterans Gustavo Lanzas (Audioelectronic), Christoph Caominh (DJ Caltrop), Darin Marshall, and Jon Gillham.
Nude Photography 2010 covers a spectrum of dancefloor-friendly sounds ranging from the deep, swinging tech house of “Acid Love” by Audioelectronic, the Kraftwerk-meets-Moroder electrodisco of DJ Caltrop, the irresistible techno-influenced deep house of Darin Marshall’s “Starbase Lounge Music”, and the driving techno of Jon Gillham’s “Tracer”.

I know, it’s been a very long time since I posted anything. Maybe you thought “GC is dead”, but to the contrary-it is very much alive. Me and the crew have been hard at work preparing releases for a brand new net label, Nude Photo Music. I’ll also be debuting my live set in early 2010.
Tune in in today between 1-3pm (PST) to 90.1 KZSU Stanford (or on the web) from 1-3pm to hear my contribution to their annual Winter Solstice Marathon (33 hours!) and some soon to be released tracks on Nude Photo as well as some of my favorite old/new tunes.

“Chapter 1″was a project by Gene Hughes, Lea M. Braak, and Damon Wild, who later founded Synewave Records and produced Techno under his own name. “My No. 1 Enemy”, off the Beyond Good And Evil EP (Strictly Rhythm, 1991), is a hypnotic groover that still sounds fresh today.->BUY

Sorcerey aka Thomas Mcelroy and Denzil Foster went on to produce hits for Club Nouveau, Tony Toni Tone, En Vogue amongst many others. Recorded using extra studio time left over from their first studio effort, (released as Frost, “Battle Beat”, “The Test” is classic 80s west coast electro.
Triangle Records was run by Jay King, best known for releasing Timex Social Club, “Rumors” on another of his labels, Jay Records and forming Club Nouveau.
A holy grail amongst electro collectors, it’s an event when one of these comes up for sale. Happy hunting!
